Lay Lake Bassmasters Finishes 2004 Tournament Series12/5/04 -- The Lay Lake Bassmasters have completed the 2004 year with the weigh-in of the December '04 Logan Martin tournament at Clear Creek Harbor. This tournament proved to be the best of the year in several ways. The most fish, weigh-in saw 54 fish by all 12 anglers and everyone weighed at least 3, eclipsing the April tournament on Jordan where 21 members competed to bring in 48 fish with 4 zeroes for the day. The most weight, where the days total was 95.94 pounds also surpassing the April Lake Jordan tournament with the 2nd highest number of anglers fishing produced 95.44 pounds. The highest single day performance, each angler caught three fish or more. All-in-all, it was a really good day for the Lay Lake Bassmasters. The winners for day were as follows, 1st Place Boat - Odell Curtis & Mark Hobbs, 2nd Place Boat - Ruben Abernathy & Jason Byrd, Big Fish - Ruben Abernathy at 4.99 lbs. Winners for the year are as follows, 1st - Steve Masters, 2nd - Ruben Abernathy, 3rd - Mike Wood, 4th - Neal Goza, 5th - Odell Curtis, 6th - T.L. Giddens, Jr. and the new Angler of the Year goes to Steve Masters. The Lay Lake Bassmasters is a Christian bass fishing club that has been serving the community and its members for more than 35 years and can trace its origins back to the mid 1960's.
